The reader is taken on an intricate ride as they watch Layla grow up through her eyes as well as those who love her. Layla is special, but so are those who surround her. As Layla grows, so do her powers. But will she be strong enough to face the darkness that’s coming?

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, it definitely sucks you in. You know a book is good when you begin to lose touch with reality and you can feel yourself becoming the character. Looking forward to the next book.
I really enjoyed this book. The character dialogue was spot on, the plot intriguing, and the ending has you yearning for more. Full disclosure I was given a pre-release copy from the author for review. Ultimately, you should read it and make up your own mind. However, as an avid reader of supernatural, paranormal, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and most other fiction, I'm definitely classifying this as a must read. Please bring on book 2!
Very good book!! It draws you in from the very beginning. I would recommend this book to mature readers. I can't wait for the next one in the series.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I was guessing until the very end. Matisse has a great sense of the macabre. I look forward to his next book. Oh and please make an audiobook so I can listen in the car!!
